Pemberdayaan Pada Kelompok Ternak Sapi Potong Berorientasi Agribisnis Pedesaan

The demand of beef in national level increases continously. However, the cattle production in rural area is likely to be low because the cattle bussiness in that area generally use a simple and traditional way. One of the reasons is lack of knowledge on agribusiness, so that farmers are not able to improve their business. Therefore, an empowerment program targeted on farmer group is needed to improve farmer’s knowledge on agribusiness. This article will describe the pattern of empowerment that can be implemented on cattle farmer groups in order to improve socio-economic benefits in rural area. The empowerment model that can be offered is the establishment of micro finance institution that is managed by farmer group. Moreover, this model should be combined with Integrated farming system, which combines agriculture, livestock, and fishery simultaneously. The combination of those empowerment efforts is expected improving cattle farmer’s well-being.
